Therapy Embrace is a therapeutic center that combines different directions and methods of therapy with a central focus on the rapid treatment and relief of mental problems as well as the universal acceptance of the individual. Our central goal is to help the individual, by overcoming obstacles, to enjoy life and live experiencing joy.


Bio

Panagiota Alexandridou is a recognized psychologist and psychotherapist for adults and children, with many years of experience and she is in charge of the Therapy Embrace. She has studied Health Visiting at the University of West Attica, Psychology at Panteion University and has completed further training in Gestalt Psychotherapy. She has also been trained in EMDR therapy, Psychosomatic Therapy, Mental Health Promotion in pregnancy, neonatal and infant period, Infant Observation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Clinical Psychodynamic Therapy in adolescence and child and adolescent psychopathology.

She has worked for 11 years at the SOS Therapeutic Home for abused infants and toddlers, at the KEFI Cancer Patients Association, where she provided psychological support to cancer patients and at the specialized diagnostic and rehabilitation center "ILIANTHOS", where she provided counseling to parents of children with autism spectrum disorders. She has also taught at the University of West Attica in the Mental Health laboratories, supervising students in their practical and thesis work.

In addition, since 2009 she has been working privately as a Psychologist-Psychotherapist in her office with children and adults, adolescents, couples and groups. She has treated depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, suicidal ideation, personality disorders, autism spectrum disorders, neurotic disorders, somatoform disorders, chronic illnesses, difficulty in interpersonal relationships, abuse, phobias, bereavement-loss, self-awareness-personal development, burnout, bullying, etc. She also has extensive experience in parenting counselling and couples therapy.

She is married with two children.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is the most appropriate and modern method for the treatment of psychological trauma. The EMDR method combines elements from various psychotherapeutic approaches and has immediate results.

Gestalt Therapy

The Gestalt therapeutic approach is phenomenological, existential, experiential. Its main goal is for the individual to gain self-awareness and to know the potential for change in order to live an authentic and meaningful life.

One of our main goals is the early therapeutic intervention in the child and the support of the family, because in this way the healthy development towards adulthood and the building of healthy relationships are ensured.

The purpose of forming a group is to bring interested members together on an individual, interpersonal and intergroup level, with the aim of building trust, reconciliation, mobilization and change. Group therapy can be done in groups of parents, teenagers, couples, professionals, etc.
